Warning: Spoofed FIFA and World Cup 2026 ticket and merchandise sites
Fake websites imitating FIFA's official pages are selling counterfeit World Cup 2026 tickets, hotel packages, and merchandise, and phishing for payment details from eager fans.
As anticipation builds for the 2026 World Cup, fraudulent websites closely copying the look of FIFA's official domain and branding are appearing in search results and social media ads. These spoofed sites offer tickets, official hospitality packages, hotel bundles, and team merchandise, often at prices that look like a bargain compared to official channels, or claiming access to sold-out matches.
Fans who purchase through these sites hand over card details and personal information for tickets that don't exist, or receive counterfeit merchandise. Because the sites mimic official branding and use URLs that look close to the real thing, the deception is convincing enough that buyers often don't realize anything is wrong until match day, when the ticket fails to scan or never arrives.
The FBI's IC3 is warning fans to buy tickets and packages only through FIFA's official ticketing platform or verified partners, and to be especially wary of any site or seller offering guaranteed access to officially sold-out matches, since legitimate resale is tightly controlled.
What to do
- Buy tickets and packages only through FIFA's official ticketing platform or authorized resellers
- Type the official URL directly rather than clicking links in ads, emails, or social posts
- Be suspicious of any site guaranteeing tickets to a sold-out match
- Pay by credit card where possible for dispute protection, and avoid wire transfers or crypto
- Check a seller's reviews and history before buying resale tickets or merchandise
- Report suspected spoofed FIFA sites to the FBI's IC3 at ic3.gov
