Warning: “Easy task” job scams via WhatsApp and Telegram
Unsolicited messages offering well-paid online “tasks” lead to a deposit trap where a fake dashboard shows earnings you can never withdraw.
Unsolicited WhatsApp and Telegram messages offering flexible, well-paid online work — liking videos, rating apps, completing “orders” — continue at high volume. After small early payouts build trust, you're asked to deposit your own money to “unlock” tasks or a frozen balance.
The dashboard, the balance and the “earnings” are all fabricated. Only the money you send out is real, and it is not returned.
Legitimate employers do not recruit by random message or require you to deposit money to get paid.
What to do
- Don't deposit money or share bank/ID details
- Block and report the contact
- If you've paid, contact your bank and report it
- Treat unsolicited “easy task” job offers as scams
