Parcel locker phishing on Discord is less common than on SMS or WhatsApp but has been observed in servers where gift-sending or merchandise fulfilment is routine — such as gaming communities that run prize giveaways or fan merchandise stores. Scammers send DMs or post in public channels claiming a locker notification was sent to the victim's registered email, and that they must act to release the parcel.
The Discord context adds plausibility because server members may genuinely be expecting merchandise rewards from community events, lowering their guard when a delivery-related message arrives.
How this scam works on Discord
A DM arrives from an account with a professional-sounding username claiming to be a delivery or locker service partner for the server's merchandise provider. The message states a parcel is held at a local locker and includes a link to 'schedule collection'. The link leads to a phishing page requesting name, address, and payment card details.
In server-wide variants, the scammer posts in a merchandise or prize fulfilment channel and asks all recent winners to click a link and confirm their delivery preferences, harvesting address and card data from multiple users at once.
Some campaigns add Discord 'embed' formatting to make the link preview appear as a legitimate branded widget.
Common red flags
- Discord DM from an unknown account claiming to be a parcel or locker service
- Message arriving in a merchandise or giveaway channel asking all winners to click a link
- Link that leads to a site requesting card details to confirm delivery
- Account with no server history or recently created username
- Embedded link preview with a brand logo but a URL that does not match the official domain
- Being asked to 'confirm your address' via an external form rather than the server's own system
How to protect yourself
- Verify prize or merchandise fulfilment directly with the server administrator, not via unsolicited DMs
- Never enter card details on a site reached through a Discord link for a 'delivery fee'
- Enable Discord DM privacy settings to block messages from non-mutual-server users
- Report the DM to Discord Trust & Safety and to the server's moderation team
- Contact the server owner if a suspicious message appears in a server channel
- Check order status via the retailer's official website if you are genuinely expecting a delivery
How to report it
- Right-click the Discord account and select 'Report' to alert Discord's Trust & Safety team
- Notify server moderators so they can warn other members
- Report the phishing URL to your national cybercrime agency
