Courier 'Card Collection' Doorstep Call Scam Examples
Callers impersonating couriers claim your bank card has been compromised and a 'courier' will collect it from your door so the bank can investigate. No bank or courier ever collects a card.

To obtain your physical payment card and PIN so fraudsters can withdraw cash or make contactless purchases before your bank detects the theft.
Red flags in the message
- Any claim that a courier will collect your bank card
- Being told to keep the card PIN in an envelope for the courier
- Instruction not to contact the bank directly
- Urgency and a short collection window
- Request to cut the card while keeping both pieces together (card is still usable)
A safe response
Hang up and call your bank on the number printed on the back of your card. Real banks never send couriers to collect cards.
What not to send

- Any personal account details
What to do if you already replied
- Call your bank's fraud line immediately using a number from its official website
- Ask the bank to freeze all accounts and issue a new card
- Report to Action Fraud or your national fraud reporting service
