What the scammer wants
To recruit you into a pyramid-shaped compensation structure where earnings come primarily from recruiting others rather than retail sales, and where most participants lose money.
Red flags in the message
- Unsolicited DM from a stranger claiming to offer income from home
- Income claims far above realistic levels for part-time work
- Requirement to purchase a starter kit or inventory upfront
- Emphasis on recruiting others rather than selling a product
- Vague product or a product you would not normally buy yourself
A safe response
Research the company using its registered name plus 'income disclosure statement.' Most MLM income disclosure statements show the vast majority of participants earn little or nothing.

Evidence to preserve
- Screenshot the full message or call details
