Fake Ledger Token Airdrop and Reward Scams
Scammers announce fake Ledger token airdrops or hardware wallet holder rewards requiring recovery phrase entry or wallet connection. Ledger does not distribute tokens through external claim pages and has no native cryptocurrency token.

Ledger's position as one of the world's best-selling hardware wallets means its users collectively hold significant crypto assets — making them attractive targets for fake airdrop campaigns. The Ledger brand is exploited to fabricate token distributions under the premise that hardware wallet holders deserve special rewards for their commitment to self-custody.
The fake airdrop format is particularly dangerous for hardware wallet users because the attacker's goal — obtaining the recovery phrase or a drainer wallet approval — is framed as a 'hardware wallet exclusive' claim that requires entering the seed phrase to 'verify ownership' of a Ledger device.
Ledger has not issued a native token as of mid-2026. Any airdrop of a purported Ledger or 'LDGR' token is fraudulent. Ledger's genuine customer programs involve device warranties, firmware updates, and Ledger Live product features — none of which distribute tokens via external claim sites.
How this scam works on the Ledger brand
An email or social media post announces that Ledger is rewarding all registered hardware wallet holders with a 'Ledger Loyalty Token' distribution. To claim, users must visit a Ledger-branded site and enter their 24-word recovery phrase to 'authenticate their Ledger device.' Doing so transmits the phrase to the attacker.
A wallet-connect variant directs users to a claim page where connecting a MetaMask or other Web3 wallet with the Ledger device's address allows claiming the airdrop. The connection flow submits a drainer transaction.
Ledger communicates genuinely with customers through email from @ledger.com and through Ledger Live's in-app notification system. Ledger's communications relate to device features, firmware updates, and products available at ledger.com — not to external token distributions requiring seed-phrase authentication.

Frequently asked questions
Has Ledger released a native token?
Ledger has not released a native cryptocurrency token as of mid-2026. Any claim of a 'LDGR token' or 'Ledger Loyalty Token' airdrop is fraudulent. Verify through ledger.com before interacting with any such claim.
Why would a hardware wallet airdrop scam ask for the recovery phrase?
Framing it as 'device verification' gives the seed phrase request a seemingly technical justification. In reality, no airdrop or loyalty program requires proving hardware wallet ownership via the seed phrase. The seed phrase grants complete wallet control — sharing it is always a loss.
I connected my wallet to a fake Ledger airdrop site. What should I do?
Visit Revoke.cash immediately, connect your wallet in read-only mode, and revoke any approvals granted. Transfer assets to a new wallet with a fresh seed phrase if any suspicious approvals were given or executed.
