Fake crypto support agents or DMs claiming wallet errors ask you to enter your seed phrase into a website or form to 'sync,' 'validate,' or 'restore' your wallet — immediately draining all funds.

What the scammer wants
To obtain your 12- or 24-word seed phrase (recovery phrase), which gives complete and permanent control over all funds in your wallet to whoever possesses it.
Red flags in the message
- Any request to enter your seed phrase on a website or via DM
- Claims of a wallet sync error requiring your recovery phrase
- Urgency framing — 'to avoid losing your funds'
- Links to websites that are not the official wallet provider domain
- Unofficial support contacts via Twitter, Discord, Telegram, or Reddit DMs
A safe response
Your seed phrase should NEVER be entered anywhere other than the physical wallet device or your own private paper backup. No legitimate wallet support will ever ask for it. Delete the message.
What not to send
- Your seed phrase or recovery words under any circumstances
- Your private key
- Wallet passwords
What to do if you already replied
- Transfer any remaining funds to a brand-new wallet with a new seed phrase immediately
- Assume the compromised wallet is permanently lost
