Fake Binance Support Scams
Criminals pose as Binance customer support agents to gain account access or extract funds. Binance will never DM you first on Telegram or ask for your login credentials.

Binance is the world's largest cryptocurrency exchange by trading volume, which makes it an attractive target for impersonators. Scammers exploit the fact that many users are relatively new to crypto and may not know exactly how Binance's genuine support system works.
Fake support schemes targeting Binance users range from unsolicited Telegram DMs claiming your account has been flagged, to elaborate phone calls in which the caller reads back your email address and account balance — details sourced from leaked data — to appear credible.
Understanding how real Binance support operates is the single most effective protection. Binance's official support is available through binance.com's built-in chat and support ticket system. No Binance employee will ever contact you on Telegram, Discord, WhatsApp, or by phone and ask you to share your password, two-factor code, or move funds to a 'safe wallet.'
How this scam works on the Binance brand
A common scenario begins on social media: a user posts a complaint or question in a Binance-related community, and within minutes a fake 'Binance Support' account with an official-looking logo slides into their DMs. The scammer creates urgency by claiming the account is about to be suspended due to suspicious activity, then asks the victim to click a link and verify their identity — which is a credential-harvesting phishing page.
A more sophisticated variant involves a spoofed phone call. The caller claims to be from the Binance security team and references real-looking account information. They walk the user through a 'security verification' flow that actually hands over their two-factor authentication code, allowing the attackers to take over the account in real time.
Binance's real communications come through in-app notifications, email from an @binance.com address, and the official support portal at binance.com/en/support. Binance does not maintain an inbound phone support number in most regions, and no legitimate agent will ever ask for the 6-digit authenticator code or request a fund transfer 'for safety.'
Common red flags
- A 'Binance Support' account contacts you first via Telegram, Discord, or WhatsApp
- The agent asks for your login password, 2FA code, or API secret key
- You are told to transfer funds to an external 'secure' or 'cold' wallet they provide
- The support link provided does not resolve to binance.com (check the domain carefully)
- The caller creates extreme urgency — 'your account will be locked in 10 minutes'
- Profile shows no verified badge, has few followers, or was created very recently
- You are asked to install remote-access software such as AnyDesk or TeamViewer
How to protect yourself
- Open any support request directly at binance.com — never via a link sent in a DM
- Enable anti-phishing code in Binance security settings so every real email includes your personal code
- Use a hardware security key or authenticator app, never SMS-based 2FA
- Never share your 2FA code with anyone, including someone claiming to be Binance
- Verify any account claiming to be Binance by checking for the official verified badge on that platform
- Bookmark binance.com and use only that bookmark — never search for 'Binance login' via Google
- Report unsolicited support contacts to Binance via their official report portal before engaging
How to report it
- Report via Binance's official support portal at binance.com/en/support
- Forward phishing emails to [email protected]
- Report phishing websites via Binance's verified feedback form in the Help Center
- File a report with your national cybercrime unit (e.g., IC3.gov in the US, Action Fraud in the UK)
- Report the impersonating social media account to the platform itself (Telegram, Twitter, etc.)
Frequently asked questions
Does Binance have a phone support line?
Binance does not offer inbound phone support in most regions. Any unsolicited call claiming to be from Binance is almost certainly a scam. Use only the chat and ticket system at binance.com.
How do I know if an email from Binance is real?
Set up a personal anti-phishing code in your Binance security settings. Genuine Binance emails will always include this code. If the email lacks it, treat it as fraudulent.
What should I do if I already gave my 2FA code to a fake agent?
Change your password and 2FA method immediately from a secure device, then contact Binance's official support to freeze your account if any funds were moved.
Can scammers really see my Binance account balance?
Not through Binance itself. However, scammers may reference partial information from data breaches or leaked databases to appear credible. This is a manipulation tactic, not proof they have account access.
