Courier Fraud & Bank Card Collection on Discord
Scammers on Discord impersonate bank support servers or direct-message users with false fraud alerts, persuading them to hand their bank card and PIN to a fake courier.

While Discord is primarily associated with gaming and hobbyist communities, its direct messaging and server features have been exploited by courier fraud operators targeting younger users who may manage their finances primarily through mobile apps. Fraudsters create servers styled as bank customer-support hubs or send DMs claiming to be a payment platform's fraud prevention team.
The Discord demographic tends to be younger and more digitally native, but familiarity with technology does not automatically confer scepticism toward an urgent fraud alert that appears on a familiar platform.
How this scam works on Discord
A Discord DM arrives from a bot or user account claiming to be a financial institution's verification service. The message states that unusual login activity has been detected on the victim's account and that for security, a courier will collect their physical card within two hours. The user is instructed to prepare the card and, in some variants, photograph it and send the image via Discord DM.
Alternatively, a fake 'bank support server' invite is sent. Inside, a staff-tagged account walks the victim through a series of steps culminating in the card-collection request, with other accounts in the server providing fake testimonials of the process being 'legitimate and quick'.
Some operators combine Discord outreach with a spoofed phone call from the victim's bank number to make the request appear to come from multiple verified sources simultaneously.
